Sunrise and Sunset
Day = when the sun is in the sky
Night = when the sun is NOT in the sky
Sunrise = when the sun first appears in the morning
Sunset = when the sun disappears at the end of the day
Midday = Noon = 12 in the day
Midnight = 12 at night
Morning = before 12 (midday)
Afternoon = 12 (midday) until sunset
Evening = sunset until you go to bed (or 10pm/11pm).
Night = when there is no sun and it is dark
Greetings in English
Three common greetings used in English are:
Good morning –> if you wake up very early in the morning and it is still dark.
Good morning (used until midday/noon 00 to 12 pm)
Good noon (only at midday/at right 12pm)
Good afternoon (from midday/noon/ after 12 12pm / until sunset)
Good evening (from sunset)
Good night is NOT used as a greeting. Good night is only used when you leave a place, when you say goodbye to someone, or when someone goes to bed.
Other ways of greeting in English
Hi = Hello
Hi is informal.
Hi and hello can be used at any hour of the day.

Midnight is the time of mind of the night or 0000 hr or 12:00 am

04. Morning
Morning is the start of a new day when the sun begins to rises. It is the period between midnight and sunrise near about 1200 hr or 12:00pm.
It is generally considered to be the period between 6:00 am and 12:00 pm.
05. Afternoon
The afternoon is the time of day between midday and evening. It usually starts around 12:00 pm and ends at approximately 6:00 pm or sunset.
06. Evening
“Evening” is the part of the day between the end of the afternoon and night. ( From sunset to bedtime and from approximately 18:00 hours to 00:00 hours).

07. Night
“Night” is the time when there is actual darkness after sunset and before sunrise. It is generally considered to be the period between 06:00 pm and 06:00 am.
08. Dawn
“Dawn” is the time just before sunrise when the sky starts to lighten and the sun rises or comes up (sunrise) in the east.
09. Dusk / Twilight
“Dusk / Twilight” is the time just after sunset when there is partial darkness between day and night. when the sky starts to darken and the sun sets in the west.
10. Sunrise / Sunup ( in the U.S )
Sunrise is the point of the time when the upper edge of the sun appears on the horizon of the East in the morning, marking the beginning of daylight. It occurs when the Earth rotates on its axis.
11. Sunset
“Sunset” is the time in the evening when the sun disappears.
Sunrise is the point of the time in the evening when the sun disappears in the horizon of the West in the evening, marking the beginning of daydark.
12. Daylight
“Daylight” is the light of the day.
13. Daydark
“Daydark” is the darkness of the day.
